Improving your AUDIO in your videos

Audio is half of your content consumption and making it near perfect will help your viewer enjoy or immerse themselves on your content. Coming to you is this video where we discuss some ways that can help you improve your audio game.

1.) Get an external microphone

The most obvious but some people are skipping this. If your budget can do it GET ONE! This will truly step up your audio. Separating it to your internal mic will make your subjects voice much clearer. The video also provides an example of an internal mic vs external.

2.) The right microphone for the right situation

Getting a lav mic while walking will make your life a little bit harder even if its a wireless mic. You don’t want something that’s clipped on your shirt. On the other side getting a boom mic for your travel vlogs/daily usage is much more logical. Plug and play and ready on the go.

3. ) Place the mic near the subject or source

The nearer the mic to the subject the better. It is much crispier and it will sound like professional video. I think people will much more appreciate a not so clean video with a good audio rather than a 4k video with a crap audio. So next time when you do your own interviews or YouTube stuffs, make sure to place the mic close as possible to your subject.

4.) Be mindful of the location

Sounds coming from other things distracts your viewer from the video the itself. Even in a room you can suffer from echos or reverb, put some soft materials so sound will not bounce often.

5.) Control you audio gain

This setting can be found inside your camera. You can see some bars when you are speaking, avoid the bar to reach more than 12. Adjust those settings to have a clear audio.

I hope this video and tips will help you. Thank you and see you on the next one.
